Terms of use

Reviewed 11 September 2026

These terms cover the hosted Linky Discord bot operated by Victor Ivanov. Using Linky also requires following Discord's terms and rules and the rules of the server where you use it.

What Linky does

Linky reposts supported X, Instagram and TikTok links to improve their previews in Discord. It credits the person who shared the message, copies supported attachments and can show English translations of non-English tweets.

A server administrator must enable a new installation with /setup enabled:true. Enabling applies to accessible channels and threads throughout that server. Administrators can disable Linky with /setup enabled:false, restrict its access or remove the bot. Existing operator-configured installations may use narrower channel access.

Linky does not send a welcome message when it joins. Discord may show its own system join notice.

Messages and permissions

By enabling Linky, an administrator authorizes it to process supported messages in the enabled scope, send replacements and delete originals after its replacement checks pass. Make sure members understand how the bot handles their messages and give it access only where that behavior is appropriate.

Linky preserves originals when it cannot safely complete a supported copy. Sending, checking and deleting are separate Discord operations. Network or permission errors can leave duplicates, and the bot is not a backup service. It does not recreate every Discord message type or guarantee restoration of a deleted original.

You remain responsible for the material you share and for having permission to share it. Do not use Linky to spam, harass, distribute unlawful material, evade access restrictions or interfere with the service. Linky does not grant rights to social-media posts or attachment content.

Availability and translations

Linky depends on Discord and independent preview and translation providers. A provider can change, block a post or become unavailable. Some URLs and message types are unsupported. Translation can be incomplete or wrong; check the original source when the wording matters.

The hosted service is provided as available. There is no promised uptime, response time or guarantee that every preview will work. The operator may change supported providers or features, restrict abusive use, pause the service or discontinue it. Material changes to these terms will be reflected on this page.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the hosted service is provided without warranties and the operator is not responsible for losses caused by outages, incorrect translations or third-party services. Nothing here excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy and support

The Privacy policy explains message processing, saved settings, operational logs and privacy requests.

For non-sensitive bugs, use GitHub issues. For private questions, privacy requests or security reports, email victor.n.ivanov@gmail.com. Do not include tokens or private message contents in public issues.

Source code

The Linky source code is available under the MIT license. That license governs your use of the code. These terms describe use of the hosted service; self-hosted copies are operated by their own maintainers.

Linky is an independent project. It is not an official Discord, X, Instagram or TikTok product.
